airport location & information Brussels International Airport is located in the municipality Zaventem about 12km from the city centre of Brussels. It's the largest airport in Belgium with flights worldwide. In 2009, the airport served 19.0 million passengers. Brussels Airport has 2 terminals: Pier A and Pier B. Flights to the 'Schengen countries' depart from Pier A. The other international flights depart mainly from Pier B. An information desk is located in the arrivals hall. Budget flights (Ryanair, Wizz Air, Jetairfly) depart not from Brussels Airport but from Brussels South Charleroi Airport (46km from Brussels). train Belgium Brussels Airport has a terminus railway station in the basement of the terminal (-1). Passengers can go by train to stations in Brussels and several other cities in Belgium (such as Ghent, Liege, Hasselt, Aalst). First trains from the airport to Brussels Midi departs at: 5.27, 5.36, 5.52 Last trains from the airport to Brussels Midi departs at: 23.36, 23.52, 00.27 From Brussels Airport Station, the travel time to: - Brussels North: 13 minutes - Brussels Central: 21 minutes - Brussels Midi: 24 minutes - Antwerp Central Station: 65 minutes/€10 (1 change of trains) train to Amsterdam There are two train journeys. Fastest is to buy a ticket of the highspeed train Thalys. A single ticket to Amsterdam is about €43. With the Thalys train, it takes 2 hours and 35 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station. The regional train operates between Brussels Airport and Brussels Midi. At station Midi, passengers change trains and take the Thalys to Amsterdam. Cheaper (but 50 minutes later) is the Intercity (IC) train to Amsterdam. Change of trains is not at Brussels Midi but in Roosendaal, a border city in the Netherlands. train to Paris The highspeed train Thalys takes passengers in 1 hour and 22 minutes from station Brussels Midi to Gare du Nord (Paris North Station). A single ticket full price 2nd class cost €66/90; a 1st class ticket is €106/141. Last Thalys train to Paris Nord is 21.15. First Thalys train to Paris Nord is at 07.13. The first train to Paris is an Intercity/local/TGV train at 5.01. express bus The bus station is located on level 0, one floor down from the arrivings hall. The bus station has 3 platforms: A, B and C - Bus company 'de Lijn' operates express bus lines to Brussels North, Brussels Expo, NATO, Mechelen, Leuven and some other stations. Departures from platform B. - MIVB/STIB has an express bus service between the airport and the European Quarter. The bus is running 7 days/week. Between 10.00 - 17.00, three buses depart every hour to the European Quarter. Fare is €3 if you buy a ticket from the GO-vending machine on the platform. If you buy a ticket in the bus, the fare is €5. Month season ticket is €48. - Brussels-Antwerp Airport Express. Stop is at the Keyserlei, a main street near Antwerp Central Station. Travel time is 45 minutes. Bus departs every hour between 5.00 - 24.00 (Sunday 7.00 - 24.00). taxi The offical taxi rank is in front of the arrivals hall. Fare to the city centre of Brussels is about €45. |
